Mini glossary
synergy - the coming together of two or more technologies to create a product.
convergence - Technological convergence is the tendency for different technological systems to evolve towards performing similar tasks.
interactivity - New media is a term used to describe both qualitatively new forms of media (e.g., the differences between analogue and digital media) and to describe media changes which, in turn, significantly affect society

Glossary of terms
Rendering: Saving all the settings we have edited and making sure the sound matched the video.
Synchronize: Matching the images with the sound.
Converges: Using the Mac to use all the other pieces of software in one place.
Synergy: Linking together software and using them within each other.

Hate is powerful word, but when describing apple mac computers, it applies in full. We cannot stress enough how much we really despise the pointless things.
When we made the thriller, we used various different types of software; photo editing (photoshop), video editing (final cut), sound editing (garageband), as well as other means such as photo booth.

Thriller
Planning - The planning of the blog began with very basic constructions. The main skill we learnt in basic construction was showing the evidence of our work. An example of the construction we used is story boards. By creating the story boards it allowed us to know how we will process our piece and therefore helped when we went to film. We also went through practice shot types. This allowed us to learn new filming techniques for our piece.
Software- Basic software usage e.g garage band, final cut, blog, photoshop. The skills we learnt were our development skills improved as well as our editing.
Creativity-skills at making connections between professional films and our own through deep analysis. inspiration for this was the film Se7en. This helped us to identify conventions.
Opening Sequence
Crime Caper - The blog was used in larger proportion to allow the group to jot down ideas and help the development stage of making the video. The ideas were made from studying cerain videos, pictures and story boards all relating to the crime caper theme. This allowed us to look back at everything we did and for us to gain our ideas from the inspiration we had earlier created in the planning of the blog.
The music used for the video was created on garage band. On garage band there were skills developed such as different sounds used to relate with the crime caper theme. Also using different levels of sound and cutting out music to relate with suspense and activity in the video.

Digital Technology- Our use of digital technology improved greatly, we used more advanced, efeects in phototshop and final cut, e.g desaturisina imagies

Our music video, an oak tree by Get Cape Wear Cape Fly used animation which we had to learn to do from scratch. We faced may problems during our production and our biggest dilema was rendering our video and getting everything to synchronize to look good.
We used the mac which converges all the software and technology together. We used synergy to create all our products by linking together the software, such as using Photoshop to create our images and then importing them into Final Cut Express to animate and edit the images.
We gained a much greater level of skills using Final Cut Express. We practiced lip synchronization a lot just so when it came to the final video, hopefully it would look good. Due to the conventions lip syncing required greater accuracy skills. We also learned how to animate and cut and mix clips about. For example we made the mouth of the tree more in tome with the lyrics so it made it look like the tree was singing.
In our rom com and thriller we used the program Garage Band to make a non diagetic soundtrack. We made the soundtrack conventional to the genre of the videos. By using already made sound and our own.
